Employee counseling means when an employee exhibits poor 

work performance or any inconsistency due to his or her act like 

fighting, stealing, absences a HR manager then tries to take 

necessary steps to correct it. These process is called employee 

counseling.

 

After that when those are not corrected or a HR manager is

 unable to correct it the he takes some steps called "positive 

discipline" to solve the problem as a next step.

Finally in a nutshell it can be said that to correct or improve

 performance problem these measures are taken.
