An organizational chart usually shows the internal structure of an organization.
Here, the employees and positions are represented by boxes or other shapes and sometimes including photos, contact information, email and page links, icons and illustrations.
The purpose of organizational chart:
Business leaders use the organizational chart for
1. Presentations.
2. Justify with adding or reducing headcount.
3. To determine the opportunity to shift job roles.
Another thing is when other business units need the org chart, they know who to go to.
There are four Types of Organizational Charts:
1. Vertical organization chart (hierarchical)
2. Horizontal org chart
3. Matrix organization chart
4. Dynamic company organization chart in tabular format
1. Vertical organization chart (hierarchical):
This organization chart is of the type of pyramid in which the person in charge has the highest level of authority and has subordinates divided into departments.
2. Horizontal org chart:
The horizontal organization chart model - has a flat, lateral structure, there are not too many middle-management positions, so it generates a sense of independence for employees.
3. Matrix organization chart:
The matrix flowchart model is a hybrid between the vertical and horizontal org charts. It does not focus on levels of authority and hierarchy but communication and relationships. It is used in companies that carry out large projects, where employees from all departments work together for that project.
4. Dynamic company organization chart in tabular format:
With Leave Board, once you embark your employees, you will have the essential elements of a flowchart organized in a simple, clear, and structured way in an Excel spreadsheet format. This table is constantly updated with the latest updates in your organization - changing roles. New teams/departments/locations created, different approval flows new hires or terminations. Although the organizational chart is not hierarchically structured, it provides an overview of the efficient management of human resources.
